Combating Cancer

Emily

"With my family history of cancer, I really have to pay attention to how I live my life. I try hard to eat well, exercise regularly and reduce stress in my everyday life, because I believe prevention is the best cure."

Cancer. It’s a scary thought. Sitting in a doctor’s office or waiting for that phone call for test results that will tell you whether the diagnosis is cancer can seem like forever. All of us hope never to be in that situation – or to never be in that situation again.

You can’t always prevent cancer. But according to the American Cancer Society, at least half of all cancer deaths can be avoided through screening, early detection, and changes in lifestyle and behavior.

Even people with cancer can do a lot to fight the disease by getting early treatment. This is especially true if the cancer is caught in its early stages – before it has a chance to do a lot of damage.

Do what you can to give yourself the best shot at combating cancer – make healthy changes in your life today!
