About HealthyFresno

Who We Are

Chronic diseases – long-lasting illnesses or conditions, such as heart disease, asthma, mental illness, cancer, and diabetes – are responsible for more deaths and disability in Fresno County than any thing else, according to a new study.¹

But it doesn’t have to be that way. The tools for preventing chronic diseases are well established and well known. Health care professionals advise that maintaining a healthy diet and engaging in regular physical activity can prevent or delay the onset of most chronic diseases and may also lessen the effects of depression – a condition that burdens millions of Americans.

That’s why America’s pharmaceutical companies have teamed up with Fresno residents, health care providers, employers, and community leaders to create a program that educates the people of Fresno on health and wellness and seeks to reduce the burden of chronic disease in the Fresno community. It’s called HealthyFresno, and it’s a place where health, wellness, and disease prevention are important parts of everyday life.
